Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, submit a film project, contact us, or otherwise interact with the CREO Films platform. This includes your name, email address, phone number, professional background, project materials (scripts, treatments, pitch decks, trailers), banking or payment details when applicable, and any other information you choose to provide.

We also collect information automatically when you use our services: log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits, time spent on pages), device data (hardware model, operating system, unique device identifiers), usage data (features you use, links you click, searches you perform), and location data derived from your IP address.

2. How We Use Your Information

CREO Films uses the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services; process film project submissions and route them through the CREO Films pipeline; communicate with you about your submissions, account, and platform updates; facilitate connections between creators, co-producers, and investors; send you marketing and promotional communications (where you have consented); monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activity to improve the platform; detect and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with: production partners and co-production entities within the CREO Films network, but only as necessary to evaluate or advance your project; investors on the CREO Films platform, where you have authorized such sharing through the investment disclosure process; service providers who perform services on our behalf (cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics); legal authorities when required by law, court order, or government regulation; and successor entities in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, in which case we will notify you before your information is transferred.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purpose of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. For active accounts, we retain data for the duration of your relationship with CREO Films and for a period of seven (7) years thereafter. Project submission materials are retained for five (5) years following a final decision on your submission. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to certain legal retention requirements.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activities on our platform. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our platform. Preference cookies allow the platform to remember choices you make. Marketing cookies may be used to deliver advertisements relevant to you. 6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information: the right to access the personal information we hold about you; the right to request correction of inaccurate data; the right to request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements); the right to object to or restrict our processing of your data; the right to data portability; and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. EU/EEA residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

7. Security

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls and authentication requirements, regular security assessments and penetration testing, and employee training on data protection. No security system is impenetrable, however, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of our systems. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

CREO Films is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible. 9. International Data Transfers

CREO Films operates globally, with offices in Washington DC, Vienna, and London, and serves creators across 138 countries. Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws of your country. When we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland to countries that have not been deemed to provide an adequate level of data protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) or by posting a prominent notice on our platform prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices. Your continued use of the CREO Films platform after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
