A jazz musician discovers a decades-old recording that threatens to unravel a government conspiracy.

In the pulsing heart of Kinshasa, jazz musician Étienne discovers a reel-to-reel tape hidden inside his late father's trumpet case. The recording — made in 1965 — contains confessions that implicate three sitting ministers in a massacre that was never reported. As Étienne attempts to bring the truth to light, he finds himself pursued through the labyrinthine back streets of the Congo River basin by men who have waited sixty years to bury it forever.
