CREO Films Founder Named to Top 20 Dynamic CEOs Canada 2025
By CREO Films Press
Sapiens Ndatabaye Kanyunyi, founder and CEO of CREO Films and the creative force behind the CREO Films platform, has been named to the Top 20 Dynamic CEOs Canada 2025 list, published by Dynamic Business Canada in partnership with the Canadian Council of Business Leaders. The list, now in its seventh year, recognises executives across Canada who have demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial impact, organisational leadership, and contribution to their sectors over the preceding twelve months.
The recognition cites Kanyunyi's work in building CREO Films from a concept into an operational organisation with presence in Canada, Austria, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and specifically highlights the CREO Films pipeline as "a genuinely novel institutional model for independent film financing — one that decentralises capital access and democratises the path from creator to screen." The citation also notes CREO Films' mission of creative industry development, an approach the judging panel described as emblematic of a new generation of purpose-led leadership.
Kanyunyi, who holds a background in humanitarian coordination and policy from his time with OCHA, has spoken frequently about the connection between his development sector experience and his approach to building CREO Films. "Working in crisis contexts taught me that the most important thing is systems design — building structures that continue to function when individuals are under pressure. We've tried to bring that discipline to how we build CREO Films." He joins a cohort that includes leaders from the Canadian tech, renewable energy, and social enterprise sectors.
The Dynamic CEOs Canada list will be celebrated at a ceremony in Toronto on June 12th, 2026. For CREO Films, the recognition arrives at a moment of significant momentum: Kinshasa Nights is bound for Sundance, Salt & Gold has closed its financing, and the platform has surpassed 7,000 submissions. Kanyunyi indicated that CREO Films will use the visibility from the award to accelerate conversations with institutional investors in the Canadian market who have expressed interest in participating in future CREO Films SPV structures.
