Frequency 432

A deaf sound engineer rebuilds her identity after cochlear implant surgery unlocks sounds she was never meant to hear.

About This Film

Born deaf, Maya built a celebrated career as a mixing engineer by feeling vibrations others cannot perceive. After revolutionary cochlear implant surgery grants her hearing for the first time at age 34, she discovers the world doesn't sound the way she imagined — and that certain frequencies the implant picks up appear to be transmissions no one else can detect. Part psychological drama, part sci-fi mystery, Frequency 432 asks what it means to hear the world differently.
